Boston- A Lonely Runners Experience

I did not run Boston, but even with all that is going on I would still run Boston given the chance. I am really at a loss for words and am filled more with sadness, not only for the people killed, injured, or affected in ayway by this tragic event, but also for the state of our world. I just don't understand the pure evil and hatred that fills people. How can anyone plan and commit such a monterous act?  I am reposting this from the blog, Travel, Fitness, and Love (with permission) to show that there are still good people out there. It is one runners account of that day...

A Lonely Runners Experience

ImageRunning a marathon in a big city you've never been to is never an easy task, going alone is even harder.  Last year I qualified for Boston for the first time at the New Orleans Rock n' Roll Marathon.  It wasn't until November that I decided I should sign up for Boston when I knew that this might be my only chance to run a marathoners dream run before I moved back overseas with my Fiance where the military would inevitably keep me far away from the east coast.

Happy Bands

Fellow MRTT momas and bloggers Run Find your Happy Pace and Running In Sanity have a wonderful little business making headbands called Happy Bands. Not only are they super cute but they function well. Lined with a velvet backing they don't slip out of your hair. Now, if you are a runner or female I am sure you know about several other companies that make these bands and sell them at every race expo and running store, but what makes these different are that they are made by military wives who do a lot of fund raising for charities like The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Their bands are just as good as the bigger companies and just as cute for a fraction of the price.

I was sent these two chevron patterned ones to try out and have gotten many compliments on them! Thanks ladies! So, if you are like me and have a headband obsession check out Happy Bands! Click Here for a link to their website.

Amelia Island, FL

I'm taking a short spring break vacation with my parents and boys to Amelia Island. I didn't get to do my running tour, as its been raining on and off, but I did get in a very sluggish 6 miles this morning.

We did some sight seeing today around the historic area. It's really a beautiful place, lots if history. Of course, I had to get in some geocaching too!

I wish we could stay longer and I think I would like to come again!
