I know I said my next post would be about the Warrior Dash, but I have been stretched so thin this week I just couldn't find time to sit and collect my thoughts. This weekend, I promise! Anyway, here is a quick post about what I am up to and sorry, but it isn't running related!
I have Monday OFF!! So happy about that. I cleaned the house yesterday and have a long to do list of errand running today, BUT first my friend Julie and I are going to take the kids on a treasure hunt and see if we can't find one or two geaocaches in our area. One is suppose to be a treasure chest of toys so that is first up and the second, well I'm not sure but I think if I can actually find one of these I might have a new hobby (for the kids of course)!
Second up is Foodie Penpals! I am so excited about this. I love food. I think I mentioned before that in a different life I would have been a Food Network Star or at least a chef or specialty food store owner. Anyway, just like the name implies its a penpal that you send food to. The Lean Green Bean runs it and matches everyone up. You have until the 15th of the month to send out your package and then on the 31st you post what you got. I got my match up yesterday. I am sending a package to Ester at Ester Fox [Dot] Com. And I am receiving a package from Jen at Life Love and Puppy Paws. I can't wait to send and receive my packages and to check out some new non-running blogs! (Hopefully, I will find time to do that!)
It's to late this month, but if you are interested in joining Foodie Penpals here is some info, and you don't have to be a blogger to join!
From The Lean Green Bean:
Here’s a detailed explanation of the program:
-On the 5th of the month, you will receive your penpal pairing via email. It will be your responsibility to contact your penpal and get their mailing address and any other information you might need like allergies or dietary restrictions.
-You will have until the 15th of the month to put your box of goodies in the mail. On the last day of the month, you will post about the goodies you received from your penpal!
-The boxes are to be filled with fun foodie things, local food items or even homemade treats! The spending limit is $15. The box must also include something written. This can be anything from a note explaining what’s in the box, to a fun recipe…use your imagination!
-You are responsible for figuring out the best way to ship your items depending on their size and how fragile they are. (Don’t forget about flat rate boxes!)
-Foodie Penpals is open to blog readers as well as bloggers. If you’re a reader and you get paired with a blogger, you can choose to write a short guest post for your penpal to post on their blog about what you received. If two readers are paired together, neither needs to worry about writing a post for that month.
- Foodie Penpals is open to US, Canadian residents & UK residents. Please note, Canadian Residents will be paired with other Canadians only. We’ve determined things might get too slow and backed up if we’re trying to send foods through customs across the border from US to Canada and vice versa. So, I’m going to keep two separate lists and match US w/ US and Canada w/ Canada!
